The hardest part of a cold email is the first line. Icebreaker writes it for you.
You give it what you can see about a person, and it returns three opening lines you can choose from. It writes only the opener, because that is the line that decides whether the rest gets read.
There are two ways to use it.
1. In the app
Open the Icebreaker tab in the sidebar.
Paste in what you know — a first name, a company, and if you have it, the person's about section or a recent post. Then generate. You get three openers, each with a Copy button.
The more you paste, the more specific the result. A name alone works, but a pasted about section gives Icebreaker something concrete to point at.
2. On LinkedIn, with the extension
If you have the Outreach Sequencer browser extension installed, you do not need to copy anything.
Open any LinkedIn profile. In the capture panel, click Write opener. Icebreaker reads the profile you are already looking at and returns the same three openers, each with a Copy button.
This is the faster path when you are already prospecting on LinkedIn.
3. Always read before you send
Icebreaker writes only from what it is given. It will not invent a fact, but it cannot know what is out of date or off-limits.
So read every opener before it goes out. Check the detail is right, and adjust the tone to match your voice.
What it costs you
Nothing extra. In the app and the extension, Icebreaker runs on your subscription — no separate key, no per-use limit beyond the normal rate limit. The free version at icebreaker.osequencing.com is the same tool, capped, for people who have not signed up yet.
Final thought
Icebreaker is not meant to write your whole message. It removes the slowest, most-skipped step — the opener — so you can send more outreach that actually sounds like you looked.
